The great problem of our time: no time!
Golf is fun, but who still has capacity for six hours of average playing time these days? We have a solution that is also compatible with family and career: the Mercedes-Benz After Work Golf Cup (AWGC). The event has many advantages, such as half the distance, i.e. only 9 holes. It takes place on weekdays and the times for teeing off are between 5 pm and 7 pm. Since 2018, the AWGC has had the official seal of the R&A, the international authority on global golf.
The AWGC with 3,200 tournaments on over 300 golf courses throughout Germany is specially designed for younger golfers who are looking for a sporting challenge on the one hand, but on the other hand rarely have time for rounds of golf lasting all day. Mercedes-Benz and the rights holder Internationale Golf AG can already look back on seven successful years.
Attractive prizes
The AWGC is an advanced golf experience platform. For the participants, everything is digital: tournament registration, results lists, Germany-wide rankings and golf course search. But the most important thing is and remains real: a relaxed 9-hole round of golf after work. However, it’s not just about honor. Attractive prizes worth a total of 350,000 euros await the participants.
A team of 20,000 players
More than a hundred local Mercedes-Benz car dealers accompany the AWGC on site. Local networks with sales relevance and high contact quality are created. Those who simply want to switch off at the tournament and play golf can exchange ideas online with other participants in the golf club community. Over 20,000 golfers have already come together there!
Local – National – Global
Lack of time is a global phenomenon. This is why we have been supporting the international roll-out of the AWGC since 2017: South Africa, Sweden, New Zealand, and the Netherlands are part of it, with other countries to follow. Initially, the AWGC was launched to solve a problem. Now it is about to help shape global golf. Great plans that perfectly correspond to the Apollo18 mission.
